Rock Solid Refuge for Girls

The mission of Rock Solid Refuge (RSR) is to bring God's transforming love to adolescents adolescents and families affected by life controlling issues, so that they may know freedom, restoration, and hope. This has been the basis of a longstanding commitment to youth in Christ’s name. RSR has a solid tradition of providing care to teen boys. We believe God wants to build something afresh on that foundation. It is time to multiply this work and branch out in support of struggling teen girls. We need you to join us now to create something unique and brand new! RSR has been the program of choice by families as a faith-based solution for 13 - 18 year old boys with addictions, behaviour, or substance abuse issues for two decades.

Founded as a non-profit charity in 2005 RSR works with parents, guardians, grandparents, lawyers, and youth workers to help teen boys overcome pornography, drug and alcohol abuse, and anger related issues. Using a Christian world-view, they effectively help teens find the freedom only God can bring, giving them back their lives. Their program challenges teens to take responsibility for their recovery. As they mature in all areas of their lives, they are enabled to confront life's challenges with confidence. Together, for Christ’s glory, they help them beat their life-controlling issues, and have been a consistent, trusted, life-giving ministry in Saskatchewan for many years.

Now, we have a brand new initiative for teen girls we are excited to share with you. Kneehill Addiction Recovery Network is helping develop a fresh research backed, faith based, girl focused program. We are assembling a new team for our pilot program - a 10 week camp for girls aged 13-18 who struggle with life controlling issues. With your help it will take place in the summer of 2027. This is just the beginning and we earnestly desire your continued support as we watch the progress of a bright new chapter.

The Team: We currently have 12 people working hard on developing this future program. This team includes interested people from Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan (namely Dallas Block - Executive Director of RSR).

Our Plan:

So far, our intention is to hold a 10 week ministry for girls ages 13-18 in the summer of 2027. For this we will need a fairly remote location that we could rent for 12 weeks allowing some lead time for training and team building, and a post event opportunity for debrief. June 9 to August 31 might work best, with the camp being June 20th to August 28th. Six students is our goal for the first summer. Tuition/fees would be roughly $5000.

Areas:

Our group has broken up into smaller teams to work on four key areas:

1. Program 2. Staff
3. Finance 4. Facilities

Wee meet monthly to share our progress and discuss ideas. Let us know if you want to be a part of this initial summer project or even if you would desire to be a part of the long-term team that will see this endeavor become reality. mail@karnonline.org
